Three years ago, on October 7, 2023, I was thinking that it would have been my Mom’s 100th birthday. What happened that day changed how I think of October 7th. That Saturday, I couldn’t stop watching any news from Israel.
I have several go-to channels on YouTube, and their algorithm helped me find more. I discovered TBN Israel. TBN, the Christian Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Israel Bureau. They are born-again Messianic Jews broadcasting from Israel. Another one I discovered was the Bearded Bible Brothers, 2 Messianic Jewish brothers who were filming Bible stories in Israel on that fateful day. See, I knew that the American legacy news outlets would twist everything around, which they eventually did, and still do. I needed to find trusted sources of news directly from Israel. Check out my article from 2024: Israel: Why What’s Happened There Matters and Should Concern Christians.
3 Years of Suffering for Israel
It’s been 3 years. However, like any massive, catastrophic event, like America’s 9/11, you’ll never forget where you were when it happened. As you’ll see in the videos below, many Israeli soldiers have been serving on and off for the last 3 years, and many people who were there recall the emotions. But first, the Lord brought to my heart these verses from the Book of Isaiah, chapter 40.
“Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God.
2 “Speak to the heart of Jerusalem;
And call out to her, that her warfare has been fulfilled,
That her [b]iniquity has been removed,
That she has received from the hand of Yahweh
Double for all her sins.”3 A voice [c]is calling,
“Prepare the way for Yahweh in the wilderness;
Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Let every valley be lifted up,
And every mountain and hill be made low;
And let the rough ground become a plain,
And the rugged terrain a broad valley;
5 [d]Then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed,
And all flesh will see it together;
For the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.”
6 A voice says, “Call out.”
Then he answered, “What shall I call out?”
All flesh is grass, and all its lovingkindness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
When the breath of Yahweh blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.9 Get yourself up on a high mountain,
O Zion, bearer of good news,
Raise up your voice powerfully,
O Jerusalem, bearer of good news;
Raise it up, do not fear.
Say to the cities of Judah,
“Behold your God!”
10 Behold, Lord Yahweh will come with strength,
With His arm ruling for Him.
Behold, His reward is with Him
And His recompense before Him.
11 Like a shepherd He will shepherd His flock;
In His arm He will gather the lambs
And carry them in His bosom;
He will gently lead the nursing ewes.12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
Isaiah 40:1-15 LSB
And encompassed the heavens by the span,
And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure,
And weighed the mountains in a balance
And the hills in a pair of scales?
13 Who has encompassed the Spirit of Yahweh,
Or as His counselor has informed Him?
14 With whom did He take counsel and who gave Him understanding?
And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge
And made Him know the way of understanding?
15 Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket,
And are counted as a speck of dust on the scales;
Behold, He lifts up the coastlands like fine dust.
God Protects Israel
Undeniably, Satan rules the world. Until Jesus, the Messiah, comes back and we have the Millennial Kingdom, God watches over Israel…
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from Yahweh,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to stumble;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will not slumber and will not sleep.5 Yahweh is your keeper;
Psalm 121 LSB
Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 Yahweh will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
8 Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in
From now until forever.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
Psalm 122:6-9 LSB
“May they prosper who love you.
7 May peace be within your walls,
And tranquility within your palaces.”
8 For the sake of my brothers and my friends,
I will now say, “May peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God,
I will seek your good.

The Good News is for Israel and the World
I love the Book of Romans. It’s Paul’s longest letter to both Jews and Gentiles in Rome. It was a church he didn’t get to visit until he was to stand before Caesar and face beheading. Nested in the middle of the epistle are chapters 9, 10, and 11. They are important concerning the future salvation of Jews and Israel.
- 9: Why don’t most Jews believe that Jesus is the Messiah?
- 10: The Salvation of Jesus is for Everyone! Are you Right with God?
- 11: God’s Grace is Free and Undeserved: Do You Have a Hard Heart?

isnt it about time you let him in
Many years ago, I sang in church choirs. And I had the honor of singing Handel’s Messiah, which included the passages from Isaiah 40. Here are excerpts…
