Don’t Rely on a ‘Hail Mary’ Play for Last Minute Salvation

Today, Superbowl Sunday, I talk about the “Hail Mary” pass often used in football and other circumstances as a last ditch effort. In football, however, it’s seldom successful.

It comes from the “Hail Mary” prayer from Catholicism. I dissect the prayer along with playing an excerpt from Through the Word on John 2 – the Wedding in Cana — featuring Pastor Sandy Adams, Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain in Atlanta, GA. sandyadams.org.

Bible Verses in this episode:

  • Acts 4:12
  • Hebrews 7:24-25
  • John 2:1-11

Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ – this is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.

Jesus also said, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ~ ‭‭John‬ ‭8:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬
