22 Benefits of Salvation Through Jesus Christ (Besides Heaven)

Living as an unsaved Catholic and then a Progressive, I was missing out on the full benefits of Salvation through Jesus Christ. I did a series of podcasts detailing 22 benefits and I’ve complied them all here.

The main benefit of Salvation is a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven where you live forever with Jesus in God’s house.

However, that happens after you die. There are many benefits of salvation for you as you live here on earth. Click on the links in the titles for a deeper Bible Study on each…

What are the Benefits the Salvation of Jesus Christ?

1-A Personal Relationship with the Living God

Jesus didn’t die so we could have religion. He died so we could have a personal relationship with Him. Do you have a personal relationships with Jesus? I do and it’s wonderful!

2-Never-ending Joy!

How can we have joy when the world is in such a mess? This is one of the most incredible benefits of Jesus’ saving grace. No matter what life and the world throws at me — I choose joy!

3-A Peace that Surpasses all Understanding

You might wonder, “Peace, yeah, right! Where do you find peace today?” Only through the salvation of Jesus. He offers us “Shalom” — wholeness and completion — a Godly peace that nothing in this world can offer.

4-Never-ending Hope of Eternal Life in Paradise

What is hope? The hope of the fact that this world is not all there is! That’s what gets us through every day. We’re just passing through earth. Our eternal home is in Heaven.

5-Salvation Means Guilt-free Living — Freedom!

One thing the Catholic Church has down pact is how to through guilt trips at its parishioners. That is so wrong! When you accept Jesus as your personal savior and repent of your sins, you accept the fact that Jesus died taking all your sins away. That makes you exonerated!

6-Salvation Means a New Life

Only Jesus can change you. Once you invite Him into your life and your heart and surrender wholly to Him, He will change your life for the better! If you’re not happy with the direction your life is going, Jesus can help you do a 180.

7-The Holy Spirit — an Unlimited Fullness of God

The gift that Jesus told the disciples to wait for before Jesus ascended into Heaven was the Holy Spirit. And it’s a gift that every believer gets once you believe, repent, and are baptized. It’s Jesus living inside of you.

8-The Gifts of the Spirit

So, you get the gift of the Holy Spirit, and along with the Spirit come certain gifts — abilities — so you can better serve God. Not everyone gets the same gift and there are several gifts. You can’t choose which gift you get.

9-The Fruit of the Spirit

Different from spiritual gifts is the fruits of the Spirit. These, are all available to you, however, you need to pick them. They don’t come automatically.

10-God’s Power and Strength

Even after I was baptized, I hadn’t fully surrendered my life to Jesus. I wanted to live in the Kingdom, but I wasn’t ready to give up some worldly things. I didn’t feel the Holy Spirit’s power and strength until I wholly surrendered.

11-Unconditional Love — Agape Love

Can a human love you unconditionally? No! However, God’s love it unconditional! No matter how bad you’ve been, God still loves you and He doesn’t want to see you perish in hell!

12-A Light in the Darkness — the Light of Eternity

Our world is dark. Jesus is the light of the world and once you have Him in your heart, the darkness is gone.

13-A New Sense of Purpose

What did Jesus mean when He said, “You are the salt of the earth?”

14-Help in Time of Need — Grace and Mercy

Grace and mercy are gifts from God. You can earn them — no matter what you do. Moreover, Jesus is there when you need help — 24/7.

15-You’re Never Alone — God is Always with You

Being single with no kids, my life could get lonely if I let it. But because I have Jesus in my heart, He’s always with me.

16-A Solid Rock to Stand On

Change is a part of life as are storms and earthquakes. No matter what you’re going through, you can trust Jesus to be the solid ground for you.

17-Truth and Discernment

In a world of fake news, you don’t know who to believe. That’s where this benefit comes in. The Holy Spirit can help you discern what is truth and what are lies.

18-A Church Family

When you become a born-again Christian, you join the family of believers all over the world. When you start attending a local church, you now have a church family.

19-No Fear!

“Fear not!” “Don’t be Afraid!” These phrases are found many times in the Bible. Imagine going from fear to freedom — which only His Salvation can offer..

20-No Worries!

“No Worries!” That’s a common phrase in response to someone saying, “Sorry.” Can we really live a worry-free life?

21-Eternal Life

Your eternal life in the Kingdom of God starts the moment you believe, repent, are baptized and receive the Holy Spirit.

22-The Wedding Feast

Who doesn’t love a party — especially a wedding! That’s what waits for us at the end of the world — after the Rapture and the Tribulation.

If you want to take advantage of ALL these Benefits of Salvation, here’s what you have to do….

Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.

  • Believe — have Faith — that Jesus is the Christ and He died taking your sins away forever and that He rose from the dead 3 days later.
  • Repent of your sins — stop sinning! Do a complete 180-degree turn in your life and surrender your life to Him. When you ask Jesus to forgive you He will. ALL your sins will be wiped clean — past, present, and future! And All means ALL!
