In Romans 9 we learned why many Jews don’t believe that Jesus is the Messiah. In Romans 10, the Apostle Paul reiterates that salvation is for everyone! And it’s up to those who are saved to preach the Good News to the whole world.
Paul Writes in Romans 10
Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved.
Romans 10:1
The longing of my heart is for all halfway Christians to be saved!
Until I was in my 40s, I walked around with a false sense of salvation. I thought that just knowing that Jesus was the Son of God and that there was such a thing as the Trinity would get me into Heaven. How wrong I was! Paul continues….
I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
Romans 10:2-4
Salvation Is for Everyone
Paul is still trying to convince the Jews that Gentiles should be included in the salvation of Jesus Christ. He quotes a lot of Old Testament scripture that the Jews should be familiar with…
For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands. But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” In fact, it says,
“The message is very close at hand;
it is on your lips and in your heart.” [Deut 30:12-14}And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” [Isaiah 28:16] Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” [Joel 2:32]
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” [Isaiah 52:7]
But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?” [Isaiah 53:1] So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have:
“The message has gone throughout the earth,
and the words to all the world.” [Ps 19:4]But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said,
“I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation.
I will provoke your anger through the foolish Gentiles.” [Deut 32:21]And later Isaiah spoke boldly for God, saying,
“I was found by people who were not looking for me.
I showed myself to those who were not asking for me.” [Isaiah 65:1]But regarding Israel, God said,
“All day long I opened my arms to them,
Romans 10:5-21
but they were disobedient and rebellious.” [Isaiah 65:2]
The False Teaching of the Catholic Church
The Catholic Church doesn’t preach salvation. They tell you to follow their rules and rituals — aka laws — very much like the Old Jewish laws of the Old Testament. Like Paul says, “misdirected zeal“. Furthermore, if you follow their rules, then you MAY get to spend time Purgatory — but they don’t tell you how long or exactly what you have to do to shorten your time there or what it will cost.($)

Jesus Paid Our Cost of Salvation
It’s what’s called REDEMPTION. We are redeemed because Jesus suffered and died on the cross taking all of our sins away forever! We should have been the ones on that cross!
But how are you going to know that — let alone believe it — if that’s not what’s preached?
If Purgatory exists, the Jesus died for nothing!
If you want the assurance of a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven, this is what you have to do…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
- Believe — have Faith — that Jesus is the Christ and He died taking your sins away forever and that He rose from the dead 3 days later.
- Repent of your sins — stop sinning! Do a complete 180-degree turn in your life and surrender your life to Him. When you ask Jesus to forgive you He will. ALL your sins will be wiped clean — past, present, and future! And All means ALL!
- Be Baptized by water baptism — show the world and yourself that you have died to your old life and are born again in Christ.
- Receive the gift of Holy Spirit in your heart.
Invite Jesus into Your Heart and Receive the Gift of Grace, Joy, Peace, and the Confident Hope of Eternal Life…
Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
