Two years ago I wrote a blog post on the History of Halloween and explained the holiday’s demonic and satanic background — along, too, with the Day of the Dead. The latter aka, Dia de los Muertos, and All Saints Day, which is very popular in Mexico, Latin America, and Arizona, where I live. The purpose was to convince Christians that they should NOT celebrate Halloween. I mean, come on! Don’t we have enough spiritual warfare without encouraging Satan by commemorating him and his demonic cronies every year? I’m not going to get into the history of Halloween again, but I did interview a fascinating guy. Watch this video and discover the demonic dark side of this popular holiday from someone who really knows…
An Interview with Former Occultist Brother Matthew…
Since Satan, Demons, and Evil Spirits are real, why do we invite them into our homes AND churches every year for Halloween?
Consequently, let’s review some Bible verses about Satan, evil forces, demons, and the devil. They are clear warnings that we clearly ignore to our detriment…
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.1 Peter 5:8 NLT
8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.1 John 3:8 NLT
Paul wrote about the “Latter Days” to Timothy as a warning…
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons…1 Timothy 4:1 NKJV
Paul also warned us about being “unequally yoked”
14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:
“I will live in them2 Corinthians 6:14-16 NLT
and walk among them.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
“If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. 43 Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! 44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me! 46 Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”John 8:42-47 NLT
Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?
Why in Heaven’s name would you purposefully invite demonic things into your house or church? Don’t we have enough spiritual warfare going on with all the evil in this world that we have to celebrate death, horror, witchcraft, spells, and the like? NO!
In conclusion, before we buy or put out Halloween decorations, hold a “Trunk or Treat” and disguise it as a “Fall Festival” on Halloween weekend, and party on the Day of the Dead, let’s review what Paul wrote about staying alert and battling Satan’s evil forces…
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT
Whose Side Are You On?
Obviously, if you’re a born-again Christian, then you should sincerely pray this prayer from Psalm 139 before you put up your Halloween decorations…
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;Psalm 139:23-24 NLT
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
So, if you get an inkling that you’re offending God by what you’re doing, STOP DOING IT! He can’t lead you along the path of everlasting life if you’re hell-bent on following the devil!
If you’re not sure if you’re saved or not, if you truly want to be born again and have the assurance of salvation, receive the Holy Spirit, feel His Shalom — a peace that surpasses all understanding, and get a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven after you die, or that you won’t be left behind at the Rapture, which can happen at any moment, this is what you have to do…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
- Believe — have Faith — that Jesus is the Christ and He died taking your sins away forever and that He rose from the dead 3 days later.
- Repent of your sins — stop sinning! Do a complete 180-degree turn in your life and surrender your life to Him. When you ask Jesus to forgive you He will. ALL your sins will be wiped clean — past, present, and future! And All means ALL!
- Be Baptized by water baptism — show the world and yourself that you have died to your old life and are born again in Christ.
- Receive the gift of Holy Spirit in your heart.
