23:8: Matthew 1: Who is Jesus: Son of Abraham, Son of David, the Messiah, and King of Kings

Jesus came into the world to save the world from sin. Who is this Jesus person? In the Gospel of Luke we saw Jesus through the eyes of the reporter. Luke, the historian, told the story of Jesus from the eyes of witnesses to His earthly ministry. John, on the other hand, was an eyewitness to Jesus’ ministry from His baptism to His resurrection. He portrayed Him as the Light of the World — a light shining and destroying the darkness of this world. Matthew comes from a whole different angle. Matthew, was a tax collector, one of the most hated people next to the Roman oppressors themselves. He was Jewish. In his Gospel, He tells the world of the Jewish Messiah who came not just to save the Jews, but the whole world.

As we start this journey through the Gospel of Matthew, I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your heart, eyes and mind to understand what the Spirit is trying to tell you. This is the Gospel Truth. Let’s dig in…

Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ – This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.

If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then…

Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.

Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
