In the past few chapters of the Gospel of Luke, Jesus and His followers have been working their way from Galilee to Jerusalem. He preached and taught the Good News to anyone who would listen. Some heard and understood. Others opposed Him because they didn’t get it. They didn’t understand that He was the Messiah — the anointed one — that the prophets of old spoke about. Rejoice, O people of Zion!
Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem!
Look, your king is coming to you.
