As we conclude the Apostle Paul’s amazing letter to the church of Rome, I want to highlight his special warnings in his final instructions…
Romans 16
I’m not going to bore you with the first few verses where Paul greets members of the church and the leadership individually. You can read it for yourself here…. However, note something very important… Peter is not mentioned at all. It is said that Peter started the church in Rome. I don’t think so. Don’t you think that Paul, who knows Peter, would greet him in this letter to the Christian church in Rome? Just think about it and seek the truth.
Paul’s Final Instructions
And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people. But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Romans 16:17-20
Lord, there are so many divisions in our country and in our churches today. I pray that all people will seek your truth, will read your Bible and will ask your Holy Spirit to come into their hearts. Holy Spirit, guide us, lead us, provide us with discernment to recognize the truth and shine your light on the lies and deceptions of Satan and his false teachers who try to lead us astray. I pray this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
Paul concludes…
Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time. But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him. All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.
Romans 16:21-27
Your Next Steps…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
- Believe — have Faith — that Jesus is the Christ and He died taking your sins away forever and that He rose from the dead 3 days later.
- Repent of your sins — stop sinning! Do a complete 180-degree turn in your life and surrender your life to Him. When you ask Jesus to forgive you He will. ALL your sins will be wiped clean — past, present, and future! And All means ALL!
- Be Baptized by water baptism — show the world and yourself that you have died to your old life and are born again in Christ.
- Receive the gift of Holy Spirit in your heart.
Invite Jesus into Your Heart and Receive the Gift of Grace, Joy, Peace, and the Confident Hope of Eternal Life…
Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
“And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14 NLT
