3.14: The In-Depth Meaning of Jesus’ Suffering on the Cross

Growing up Catholic, I had to memorize and recite the Apostles Creed regularly. There’s the “Good Friday” part that says, “He was tried under Pontius Pilot, suffered, died and was buried. Sounds rather simple, right? But it’s not. Here’s an in-depth look at Jesus’ suffering on the cross when he bore all of our sins, past, present and future, once and for all so that we could have true salvation and a 1-way, non-stop ticket to heaven.

Quote from Lenten Bible Study plan in the Bible app: “Journeying with Jesus” by Susan Narjala.

Bible Verses in this episode:

  • Matthew 27:46
  • Psalm 22:1

If Purgatory exists, then Jesus suffered and sacrificed His life for nothing.

Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.

Pray this prayer:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
