Advent 2020 is here! Advent, it’s the season when most of the world prepares to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Though we don’t know exactly when Jesus was born — even the year is fuzzy — the early church leaders chose December 25th, a pagan festival day, for the celebration. It was a marketing ploy to get Romans to accept Christianity in the 1st century. (It’s amazing how many pagan rituals were adopted by the church back then, just to appease the Romans.)
Why didn’t they just look at the Book of the Prophet Isaiah? He is the most-quoted of the prophets in the New Testament — 21 times! Isaiah’s name means, “the Lord has saved”, which confirms why Jesus came into the world and became human — to save the world through Him. If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
