The story of Joseph and his brothers is one of the most popular Bible stories. It’s been a Broadway play and a movie. But it’s more that just a good story. It holds a powerful lesson about God’s will, His plan, as well as, trusting God no matter what.
So far in our story... God gives Joseph two dreams where his brothers are bowing down to him. That was the last straw (pun intended) for his bros and they beat him up, threw him in a dry well, and sold him to some cousins. Then, they lied to their father telling him Joseph was dead. Sin, over sin, over another sin.
In the meantime, Joe is taken to Egypt and sold to Potipher, who promoted him to main steward of his house. However, Potipher’s wife wrongly accuses him of attacking her and he’s sent to prison where he finds favor with the jailer. He later finds favor with Pharaoh by interpreting his dreams of 7 years of prosperity followed by 7 years of famine and is entrusted with storing all the grain of Egypt and it’s distribution.
Well, that famine was all over the world, including Canaan where Joe’s family lived.
Let’s dig in to the rest of the story. Yes, it’s a little long, but hang in there, it’s worth it!…

Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ Revelation 3:22 NLT – This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.

I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
