What does Christian living look like? That’s what the second chapter of Paul’s letter to the Philippians covers. What Paul is telling the church is to have the same mindset as Jesus. What does that look like? It’s not cookie-cutter. Unity in Christ works from the inside out — with the help of the Holy Spirit.
C.S. Lewis“True humility is not thinking less of yourself — it is thinking of yourself less.”
That is the opposite of what the world says. When I was in college in the 70s, it was all about striving to be the best — the power position, breaking the glass ceiling, making money, success. The true Christian attitude is all about humility and service. Thinking of others first.
It’s interesting because in today’s business world, you have to put the customer first. The successful business is one that is people-focused.
The Christian is to strive to be like Jesus — to put others first above themselves.
Let’s see what Paul has to say in chapter 2…
If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
