Here we are celebrating another New Year! Except it wasn’t so nice of a celebration for the folks who live in Israel. The Hamas terrorists decided to send them a barrage of rockets exactly the moment the clock struck 12 midnight in Israel. Is the war in Israel part of Bible Prophecy? We’ll see.
Besides the war in Israel, we still have the never-ending war in Ukraine. Then, Venezuela is planning to invade their neighbor Guinea. The civil conflict in Sudan continues as well as increased Christian persecution in Nigeria, China, and North Korea — just to name a few. There are protests around the world. Furthermore, the FBI is warning that internal Islamic terrorist attacks in the U.S. are imminent. Obviously, there is an increase of evil in the world — pointing to the Last Days.
I’ve embedded videos and podcasts from various sources. Since the Oct. 7th massacre in Israel, I’ve discovered several reliable news sources. Moreover, some of them are in Israel reporting right from ground zero.

Praise the name of God forever and ever, for YOU have all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events; You remove kings and set up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light. Today I heard that there is an eighth front — the border with Jordan to the east. They are not fighting Jordan — with which they have a peace treaty — it’s Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy who’s moved into Jordan. So the octopus has its eight tendrils.

Is what’s going on in Israel right now the precursor to the Gog from Magog war? Maybe. In Ezekiel 38, we read where God is talking to “Gog”, the leader of Russia…

Thus, the current war very well may be the war Israel has to recover from before God puts a hook in Gog’s jaws to get him to partner with these other countries and attack Israel.
Already, Libya (Put), which is controlled by Russia, declared war against Israel. Sudan is in the middle of a civil war between two Islamic generals. Ethiopia is dealing with its neighbor Eritrea. Evidently, Turkey sided with Hamas. By the way, remember ISIS? They disbanded after being driven out of Iraq and went to Turkey and are now their military arm in Syria.
We know Iran hates Israel and wants to see it eliminated. Afghanistan is hurting since the Taliban took over after the U.S.’s hasty departure. The other “stans” will just take up with Russia.
It’s all primed and ready to go.

Obviously, there is bad news all over the world. Nevertheless, there is also great news — signs of hope — that born-again Christians are doing what Jesus told us to do in the Great Commission and before He left us.

Dear Lord, make 2024 a life-changing year. Reveal Yourself to us. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Help us realize that growing closer to You is a journey of learning, not a task to accomplish. Strengthen us as we live out your will for our lives.
Jesus, you are the unbreakable, unshakeable, immovable foundation that stands the test of time and keeps us standing strong in the face of panic-inducing winds and terrifying storms. Help us to remember that we born-again believers are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven — and this evil earth is not our home! Thank you for being our confident hope!
Lord, please come soon to fulfill your salvation, and grant us patience, strength, courage and boldness as we wait to see it. Amen.
