World Watch 7.29.23: Prophetic, Last Days News Just Like Jesus Said

Something’s not right. In fact, something is very wrong! Moreover, the truth is, it’s not going to get any better before Jesus comes for His born-again believers in the Rapture. I do this blog and podcast every week not to scare you, but as a Watchwoman on the Wall, I feel it is my duty to warn you. It’s up to you to read, listen and understand. It’s up to you to grasp the urgency of the times. As Christians, we need to be taking this time to spread the Word of God, the Gospel — the Good News — throughout the world. It starts in our backyards, our workplaces, and our neighborhoods.

Head in Sand oblivious to last days prophesied global events

Friend, ignoring the Book of Revelationand Bible Prophecy — is to ignore the blessings from God. Bible Prophecy is not meant to scare us, but to prepare us and to give us encouragement and confident hope. It’s the type of secure feeling that nothing in this world can ever give you.

Furthermore, ignoring prophecy distorts the entire message of the Bible. Obviously, if you remove prophecy, you remove the proof that the Bible is from a divine source. Interestingly, that’s what makes the Bible different from any other religious book. Besides that, where else do you get invited to a Heavenly Wedding Feast?

With that in mind, let’s look at this week’s wrap up of the increasing birth pains of the last days.

Coming True Right Now!

Wars, Threats of Wars, People Group vs
People Group

Russia / North Korea

Reports on a Russian-North Korean agreement that the latter will supply artillery shells to Russia. In light of this news, it’s important to report that the Russian Defense Minister visited North Korea to participate in events to mark the 70th anniversary of the ceasefire in the Korean War.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is giving away more ammunition than we’re making!

Elsewhere Around the World…

Undoubtedly, we are witnessing the CONVERGENCE of numerous events — all prophesied in the Bible happening all at once! Unfortunately, things are going to get way worse before Jesus comes for His born-again believers in the Rapture.
Nevertheless, our hope is in knowing that HE is still in control!

Jesus warned us, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” The Greek word for “nation” is “ethnos” from which we get our words “ethnic” and “ethnicity”. It’s also translated as “people group” against “people group”.

This is found in His Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13. Additionally, He said, “But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”

Jesus said regarding the Last Days…

“But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”

“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.

10 “And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

Matthew 24:8-13 NLT

Increased Christian Persecution

Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.

We pray for the government of Sudan but thank God for it, too. Thanks to its policies and its war against Christians — the terror, the threats, the imprisonment — look at how the church has grown. Look at what God has allowed us to do here in the middle of this! Look at how many are turning to Christ.

Canadian Pastor Goes into Exile in Kenya

Harold Ristau, a pastor and seminary professor who took part in the trucker convoy protests in February 2022, has moved his family to Kenya after being threatened by the government with confiscation of his retirement savings and all other personal funds. Ristau took part in one day of the protests, during which he gave a prayer and sang the national anthem. The government has since sought to punish Ristau and has threatened him and his family.

“I don’t know that I can go back and be a Christian in Canada. So that’s why we’re here in Kenya,” said Ristau.

During the trucker convoy protests, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet passed the Emergencies Act, which was designed to discourage Canadians from supporting the convoy protests and threatened to freeze their bank accounts if they did.

Ristau is among the parties to a lawsuit that challenges the constitutionality of the Emergencies Act, which stated that dissent in support of the trucker convoy protests was to be treated as terrorism.

We must pray and speak out against persecution.

The Gospel Around the World
in the Last Days!

Obviously, there is bad news all over the world. Nevertheless, there is also great news — signs of hope — that born-again Christians are doing what Jesus told us to do in the Great Commission and before He left us.

  • Central African Republic – SIL: With eight new Bible translation projects recently started, the Central African Republic’s Bible translation organisation, ACATBA, is working towards reopening another one! The Yaka language project halted several years ago but is now being urgently requested by local churches. They believe access to the whole Bible in their language is essential for the spiritual growth of their congregations and outreach in their community. Thank God for this exciting development, and pray for good relationships among the stakeholders, for the right people to work on the project, and for provision of all the resources they need.
  • North Korea: Pray for believers secretly listening to Christian radio broadcasts from abroad who want to learn more about the Bible and how to covertly explain the gospel to their children. Ask the Holy Spirit to to meet these needs.
  • Brunei: Thank God for a new football club in a slum area in Colombo. Established by a pastor, the club helps children stay away from drugs and fights and encounter prayer and God’s Word.
  • Some Christian converts in the football club come from Muslim backgrounds and face opposition from their families. But their lives continue to inspire other children to follow Christ. Praise God for their witness!
  • HistoryMakers (AsiaLink): Please pray for the first of our two short-term summer teams as they travel to Asia to help carry bibles into some restricted nations. Pray that all the travel plans would run smoothly and that as the team spend the next two weeks together, they will enjoy rich fellowship and spiritual formation.
  • Kenya – Reach Beyond: Our media partner in Kenya wrote, ‘Our children’s programme, a result of the recent training from Reach Beyond, is about to be launched. Thirty minutes, once a week in both Kiswahili and our vernacular here. Pray for us, for apart from airing via radio, we are producing an accompanying podcast which we want to share with the young ones via smartphones.’ Pray for impact on the young people through this new programme.
  • Yemen: It may surprise you to know there is a thriving program of Bible distribution in Yemen. Thank God, also, that so many people in Yemen are seeking Christ online, participating in discipleship classes. Pray they will be inspired and meet Jesus in new ways.

Don’t Take Your Bible For Granted!

“They begged and begged me, but I couldn’t give it to them,” said the man. “I know Christians are supposed to share, but I just couldn’t part with it.” He sadly held out his hand so that his listener could see his prized possession.

“I really wanted to, but I couldn’t. You see, people in North Korea told me that they have been praying for 50 years to get a Bible. But I didn’t give them mine because I had been praying for 20 years, and I had just gotten it from a pastor in South Korea.”

He sighed deeply as his mind went to the needy believers in North Korea desperately praying for one copy of the Bible. He hugged his Bible to his chest. He had escaped the Communist prison state and was now living freely in South Korea.

Bibles in North Korea are rare. Because of the opposition from the Communists, believers consider them more precious than gold. One man was beaten to death with an iron rod along the Chinese border when he was caught bringing Bibles into North Korea. Sadly, cases like this are reported over and over.

“I cannot forget those people,” he said with a sigh. “I cannot forget the look of envy on their faces when I showed them my Bible. I feel so bad for them.”

They serve as coasters for drinks or a handy spot to rest the remote control. Their sturdy covers help compose a letter on hotel stationery or catch the ashes falling from a cigarette. They listlessly adorn the coffee table, next to the caramel candy dish and the TV Guide.

Although this book remains a best seller year after year, no one seems to be reading it very much. It is the Bible. The Bible is abused and neglected outside of those places where its true value is known all too well. How differently we might treat our Bibles if we had to pray 20 years to get one! What can you do to revive your passion for God’s precious Word?

Help Spread the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the World!

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We Are Living in the Last Days!

28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29 NLT

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.”

‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Moreover, we should live with the courage and boldness like the first true believers. In other words, we must STUDY the Bible daily, OBEY what it says, PRAY together with other true born-again believers, and finally, in obeying, we must preach the Word of God with boldness.

How? Through the Power of the Holy Spirit!

Do You Have the Holy Spirit
in YOUR Heart?

Are YOU Secure in YOUR Salvation
Through Jesus Christ?

If you’re not sure if you’re saved or not, if you truly want to be born again and have the assurance of salvation, receive the Holy Spirit, feel His Shalom — a peace that surpasses all understanding, and get a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven after you die, or that you won’t be left behind at the Rapture, which can happen at any moment, this is what you have to do…

Invite Jesus into Your Heart and Receive the Gift of Grace and the Confident Hope of Eternal Life…

Prayer…

Jesus, you are the unbreakable, unshakeable, immovable foundation that stands the test of time and keeps us standing strong in the face of panic-inducing winds and terrifying storms. Help us to remember that we born-again believers are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven — and this evil earth is not our home! Thank you for being our confident hope!

Lord, please come soon to fulfill your salvation, and grant us patience, strength, courage and boldness as we wait to see it. Amen.
