World Watch Prophetic, Last Days News Just Like Jesus Said

World Watch 5.21.23: Prophetic, Last Days News Just Like Jesus Said

Obviously, the world is getting darker and darker. It’s scary. It’s frustrating. Ultimately, it’s sad. Nevertheless, it’s not like we weren’t warned! The Good News in these last days is that we, as born-again believers, have Jesus’ light in our hearts and we must shine it while we are in this world.

Besides the Old Testament Prophets, John the Revelator, and the Apostle Paul, Jesus clearly spoke about the last days in His Olivet Discourse found in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13. Undoubtedly, we are seeing the CONVERGENCE of numerous events, prophesied in the Bible happening all at once! Let’s dig in to a recap of this week’s last days events. Hang in there till the end for some godly words of wisdom and encouragement.

Wars and Threats of Wars

Russia / Ukraine War

Sudan

Fallout from Sudan Conflict Threatens to Spill into Chad

From a News Station in Uganda: African leaders provide insight on the Sudan conflict and crisis.

China / Taiwan

The US plans to sell weapons to Taiwan… Here’s what the Chinese think about that…

On Tuesday, May 16, as the US continued work on a $500 million weapons package for Taiwan, China’s military responded by saying it is ready to “resolutely smash any form of Taiwan independence secession along with attempts at outside interference, and will resolutely defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

That same day, Tesla, Twitter, and X Corp CEO Elon Musk said in a news interview that “there is a certain inevitability” to China’s threats toward Taiwan. When asked about the possibility of an attack, he said, “One does not need to read between the lines; one can simply read the lines.”

G7 Summit Highlights

The G7 nations are: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

In Hiroshima, Japan, the G7 summit began this week. In a joint statement, the G7 governments called on all “third parties to immediately cease providing material support to Russia’s aggression, or face severe costs.”

The G7 nations have agreed “to further curtail Russia’s use of the international financial system,” “limit Russia’s energy revenue,” and impose further “export bans.” They will also “starve Russia of G7 technology, industrial equipment and services that support its war machine.”

Interestingly, the G7 leaders say they will work with countries that agree to help prevent further aggressions by Russia, yet they were silent on what that means for their relations with China, which refuses to condemn Russia for its actions. Both the US and the European Union have very active trade relations with China. (There’s more on the G7 Summit in the New World Order section below.)

In other news…

  • At least four US Embassy staff shot dead in Nigeria — non were U.S. citizens.
  • Iran and Russia on Wednesday agreed to collaborate on the construction of the final part of an international North-South Transport Corridor linking the Gulf and India while avoiding Western sea lanes. The Rasht-Astara railway will be an important link in the corridor, intended to connect India, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, and other countries via railways and sea – a route that Russia says can rival the Suez Canal as a major global trade route. Russia and Iran are both under international sanctions that restrict trade.
  • In Turkey’s presidential elections, neither candidate was able to get the required 50% of votes.
    • 20-year incumbent Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 49.46 percent of the vote, and challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu 44.79 percent.
    • A run-off election be in two weeks.
    • Under Erdogan’s leadership, the Turkish economy has suffered severe inflation and massive slides in the value of the lira. Erdogan has also been criticized for his increasingly authoritarian style of rule. However, experts say that Erdogan will probably win.
  • Friday night, for the first time, trucks carrying chemical substances from Iran crossed through Iraq into Syria through the Al Hari crossing near the border.
    • The trucks were accompanied by people wearing HAZMAT suits and masks.
    • The trucks unloaded their contents at a chemical facility belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Al Hari and after two hours they continued to the city of Albu Kamal.

America: On the Home Front

They’re Coming to America

The Biden Border Crisis happening in my backyard continues and Neil Diamond’s song, “Coming to America” keesp playing in my head. Please watch this video of the song, listen carefully to the lyrics, then check out the tweets & podcasts…

What’s the difference between the images portrayed in this video and today’s border crisis?

Simply, the people back then came to America LEGALLY! The ones coming now are ILLEGAL.

All in all, the majority are good, honest, hard-working people just seeking a better life for themselves and their families. However, because of the open-door policies of the current administration, the not-so-good people are slipping through.

New World Order, Great Reset,
Economic Chaos, Big Brother, &
Government Overreach in the Last Days

Economic Chaos

Economic Deception

Advocates for the current US administration claim it has cut the deficit by $1.7 trillion over the past two years. But here’s the math:

According to the Congressional Budget Office, due to the expiration of pandemic spending in 2021 and 2022, projected deficits would naturally decline by $2.95 trillion. The supposed decline would occur not because of actual cuts, but because of expiration dates.

However, NEW congressional spending during that same period means the natural decline ended up being $2.11 trillion.

Because of the new spending, the US deficit ended up growing $840 billion above what the deficit would have been without any new spending.

Taking into consideration all federal government spending since 2022, the national debt has actually grown by $3.5 trillion.

The US debt ceiling was raised by $2.5 trillion less than 18 months ago by this same US administration, which is now arguing it needs to be raised again. This being the case, the deficit has not been cut as claimed.  Foreshadows

Increased Evil , Satanic Lawlessness, Terrorism, Sexual Immorality, Apostasy, False Teachings, Corruption, and Deception in the Last Days

Jesus said regarding the Last Days…

“But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”

“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.”

Matthew 24:8-9 NLT

Increased Christian Persecution

There is Good News in the Last Days!
The Gospel Around the World!

Jesus said , “For the Good News must first be preached to all nations (peoples).” (Mark 13:10)

Obviously, there is bad news all over the world. Nevertheless, there is also great news — signs of hope — that born-again Christians are doing what Jesus told us to do in the Great Commission and before He left us.

  • Central Asia: The country of Armenia holds a unique place as the only Central Asian country where Islam is not the majority religion. Surprizingly, evangelical Christians represent almost 10% of the population. Please pray that these believers will be faithful witnesses to their Muslim neighbours.
  • Laos: Give thanks for a quantity of Children’s Illustrated Bibles that have safely arrived in the restricted nation of Laos. Please pray that the bibles will be discreetly distributed within the country and that many children will receive a copy, learn more about Jesus and grow in their faith.
  • Iraq: In March, a group of priests and lay leaders from different churches attended their first Open Doors-run leadership training sessions of the year. Pray that the training will help them find solutions to the challenges they face in their villages and towns, and that they will be able to convey what they learn to their congregations.
  • Indonesia: There are around 787 people groups in Indonesia who speak 688 languages. Only 53 of these languages have the complete Bible, others have the New Testament, some have a few bible portions but many have no scripture in their language. Please pray for the vital work of bible translation in Indonesia.

Words of Encouragement for These Last Days

Darkness is enveloping the world more and more each day. Therefore, we have no other choice, but follow the Light, live in the Light and shine the Light.

John wrote…

The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.

John 1:4-5 NLT

Jesus said…

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Matthew 5:13-16 NLT

Listening to the Prophecy Today podcast (embedded below), one of the guests quoted his favorite passage, Habakkuk 2:1. As it turns out, one of the quotes I had picked out for today was from Habakkuk 1! So, here a prophet of old, cries out to God with the same problems we hare today…

How long, O Lord, must I call for help?
    But you do not listen!
“Violence is everywhere!” I cry,
but you do not come to save.
Must I forever see these evil deeds?
Why must I watch all this misery?
Wherever I look,
    I see destruction and violence.
I am surrounded by people
who love to argue and fight.
The law has become paralyzed,
and there is no justice in the courts.
The wicked far outnumber the righteous,
so that justice has become perverted…

…I will climb up to my watchtower
    and stand at my guardpost.
There I will wait to see what the Lord says
and how he will answer my complaint.

Habakkuk 1:2-4, 2:1 NLT

What is wonderful, is that the Lord, Jesus, will answer our complaints. He never said life would be perfect, but He conquered death and the grave so we have HOPE that this evil world is not all there is…

Paul wrote

23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace[a] with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬-‭25‬, 5‬:‭1‬-‭6 NLT‬‬

Lord, please come soon to fulfill your salvation, and grant me patience as I wait to see it. Amen.
