There’s bad news everywhere — you can’t deny it. Nevertheless, it makes you stop and wonder, “What in the world is going on?!” Additionally, it seems that no one, no political leader, no religious leader has any clear answers. However, there’s one source and one source only that can help you make sense of everything that’s going on — the Bible.
At least 5 targets in both Homs and Aleppo were destroyed! All of that 24 hours before the Iranian president arrived for the first state visit in Syria since 2011.

Latest Threat Assessments of Iran
Yesterday while in Greece, Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant stated that Iran has produced enough uranium to contribute toward the creation of five nuclear bombs.
The uranium is not yet enriched enough, but is available, should Iran decide to further enrich and weaponize it. What’s unknown is Iran’s capabilities for reaching the enrichment level necessary for the activation of a nuclear weapon. Experts say that could be anywhere between two weeks to six months.
Gallant said, “If Iran enriches to the 90% weaponized level, it would be a great error and the price would be heavy, and there would be consequences which could inflame the Middle East.”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) orders employees to drop regular duties, shift to coming border surge
May 2, 2023 – DHS orders employees to drop regular duties, shift to coming border surge: Employees being pulled from anti-terrorism task force, family reunification to interview illegal immigrants.
The Department of Homeland Security’s legal immigration agency is ordering hundreds of employees to drop their regular duties and shift to border detail, where they will assist in the catch-and-release of the wave of illegal immigrants expected to come into the U.S. this month.
People performing anti-terrorism work or helping reunite separated families have been conscripted, as have officers who process regular applications from legal immigrants. They were ordered to begin a seven-day training course this week and be ready for a 60-day deployment to help with the migrant surge.
Employees were angry and unleashed their fury on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials Friday in a briefing that The Washington Times monitored.
Roughly 6,000 unauthorized migrants poured across the southern border each day in March — the latest month for which Homeland Security has released data. Officials think that number could double in two weeks when the Title 42 power expires. Rather than derail the flow, the Biden administration has put its effort into trying to manage it. Source
Back in January 2023, the Times of Israel reported that the current US administration was “quietly shipping hundreds of thousands of artillery shells from a massive stockpile in Israel.” The US is sending the ammunition to Ukraine.
The US ammo in Israel is intended for use in Middle East conflicts, and can be used by Israel to protect itself in emergency attacks.
But the US is now depleting the ammo, and has given no indication it plans to replenish the stockpile. Given the US administration’s recent hostile responses to political developments taking place in Israel, it wouldn’t be surprising if the US is intentionally depleting the stockpile to “punish” Israel and leave it with fewer resources to protect itself.
Vendors for a company can get discounts on loans if they hit environmental and social targets. In other words, if you’re not in with the Green New Deal, you have to pay more. It will get to the point where if you don’t meet certain “sustainability” goals, you don’t get funding period.
3 Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”
5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 6 Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. 7 And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
11 Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, 12 looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. 13 But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.
14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.
15 And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved.

Jesus said regarding the Last Days…
“But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”
“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.”
Nigeria: Mary* was sadly abducted from her church by Fulani militants and held captive for ransom. She faced repeated sexual violence and was severely traumatized. Thank God she received trauma care and found hope. Pray that women like Mary will know God’s healing love and restoration.
Sri Lanka: Please pray for the persecuted believers and pastors that are living in various parts of Sri Lanka. Many have been isolated by their communities, and schoolchildren face persecution in their schools.
Afghanistan: Taliban leaders have presented many organisations and agencies with a real problem as a result of their ban on women going to university or holding certain jobs. Please pray for several “creative” Christian ministries within Afghanistan who can no longer have women involved in their staff teams.
Pray that God will change the hearts of Islamists, converting them like the Apostle Paul.
There is Good News in the Last Days! The Gospel Around the World!
Jesus said , “For the Good News must first be preached to all nations (peoples).” (Mark 13:10)
Yes, there is bad news all over the world. Nevertheless, there is also great news — signs of hope — that Christians are doing what Jesus told us to do in the Great Commission and before He left us.
Iran: Although the Iranian church is reported to be fastest growing church in the world, there are still over 88 million Iranians who need who hear about Jesus. Pray for radio and online ministries that are making evangelistic and discipleship material available to the Iranian people.
Pakistan: The Khosa are an unreached people group in Pakistan and very closed to outside influence. AsiaLink partners recently had some contact and one man has become a follower of Jesus. Please pray that others will be saved and a church will be planted among the Khosa people.
China: Praise God for the courage and leadership shown by many Christian children who are taking responsibility for organising and leading bible clubs, discipleship groups and prayer meetings. Pray that teaching and discipleship resources will continue to reach them via secure online platforms.
“These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
Luke 10:2 NLT
Words of Encouragement for These Last Days
Notice that the final word of the Old Testament is “curse” (Malachi 4:6). Shortly after Genesis opens up, we find a garden in which the curse is introduced, and according to Malachi, the curse was still in operation. But the New Testament ends with a blessing, with John recording a future in which “there shall be no more curse” (Revelation 22:3). And the last line of Revelation says, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen” (v. 21). The difference between curse and grace is Jesus Christ.

Lord, please come soon to fulfill your salvation, and grant me patience as I wait to see it. Amen.
