We’re on the brink of World War III! Some world leaders say we’re already there. The Doomsday Clock is now at 90 seconds before midnight as tensions escalate in Ukraine. Terror attacks in Israel, 3 mass shootings in California, and increased persecution of Jews and Christians — all this and more show the convergence of last days predictions by Jesus Himself. Let’s dig in…
Wars and Threats of Wars
At the Mount of Olives, Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” He replied…
6 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. 7 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
The Minister of Defense of Slovakia announced the immediate transfer to Ukraine of 30 T-72 tanks.
Spain confirmed it will also send Leopard tanks.
The US has officially informed Ukraine it will send 31 A-1 Abrams tanks. That paved the way for the Germans to agree to send their Leopard tanks as well. The West knows that the next two weeks can determine the future of the entire war. Both sides are preparing for a major move. Whoever has enough weapon and soldiers on the ground to hold the lines will be the victor. So far the Ukrainians are losing ground on both the eastern (Donbas) and the southern (Zaporizhzhia) fronts. US military support to Ukraine has revealed that US defense industries are “unprepared for the possibility of a war against the Chinese military” – and in the event of such a conflict the US military would be left without ammunition and weapons in a short time. (WSJ) Amir Tsarfati
Two Iranian warships—including one with cruise missiles—are now docked in Brazil. Their next destination is Venezuela, then the Panama Canal.
The US has said it is monitoring the ships’ progress, and there are questions about their intent. Rear Admiral Shahram Irani of the Iranian navy said Iran’s goal is to “strengthen our maritime presence in international waters.” Foreshadows
Biden has asked Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and six other Latin American nations to send their old Russian weapons to Ukraine in exchange for new U.S. military equipment.
What could possibly go wrong?!
The Russian News Agency TAAS just confirmed that the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov”, located in the western Atlantic Ocean, carried out a computer simulation of firing a hypersonic Zircon missile against an “enemy ship” at a distance of 900 km. The ship is on a mission “to demonstrate Russian naval presence in important strategic areas of the oceans”.
Iran Threatens to Block Strait of Hormuz Now that the EU has designated Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, Iran is threatening to retaliate by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. A vice chairman of Iran’s parliament said, “If the Europeans are going to treat our armed forces and official forces like this, we will also put other options on the table, including restricting the traffic of European commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is a major shipping lane in the Persian Gulf and is considered one of the most important choke points in the world. It’s the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean. Twenty-five percent of global oil shipments pass through this strait. Foreshadows
You may remember when the cargo ship, Ever Given, was stuck for 6 days in the Suez Canal, another main shipping lane in 2021. It backed up the world’s supply chain for months.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament said, “In response to the European Union’s decision regarding the Revolutionary Guards, we will declare the armies of the European countries as terrorist organizations.” Amir Tsarfati
All Eyes on Israel in the Last Days
Amir Tsarfati Breaking News: Synagogue Massacre in Jerusalem
2 Rockets fired from Gaza towards southern Israel. Both intercepted by “Iron Dome”.
In response to the rockets fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel, the IDF targeted an underground rocket manufacturing site belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization.
Additionally, IDF fighter jets struck a military base used by the Hamas terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip. The base served as a significant center of Hamas’ terrorist activities. Amir
Days of escalation in the West Bank! The Israeli security forces thwarted a major terror attack by a group of Palestinian terrorists out of the refugee camp in the West Bank city of Jenin. The Israeli operation caught the Islamic Jihad affiliated terrorist in the final stage of preparations. At least nine terrorists were killed in this preemptive operation. Amir
Russian propaganda channels already call to supply Iran with a nuclear weapon to wipe Israel off the map due to the western supply of tanks to Ukraine. As you can see, in the eyes of avid antisemites, Israel will always be the one to be blamed for anything and everything.
Netanyahu Met with King Abdullah II of Jordan… In a surprise visit, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the king of Jordan to discuss “strategic, security, and economic cooperation.” In the face of rising tensions over Israeli-Palestinian interactions at the Temple Mount, Abdullah II urged Netanyahu to “respect the historical and legal status quo.” Relations between the two nations have worsened in recent years, and the meeting was an attempt to reaffirm the need for a strong alliance. US and Israel launched the “most significant” joint military exercise in history to “send a message” to Iran. The drill, dubbed “Juniper Oak 2023”, involved 6,400 U.S. and 1,100 Israeli personnel, over 140 aircraft, 12 naval vessels, and artillery systems from both nations, according to CENTCOM. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.
Luke 21:11 NLT
The Greek word for “earthquakes” is “seismos” which also covers floods, turbulence, hurricanes, blizzards, atmospheric rivers, wildfires, and volcanoes. It’s WEATHER, pure and simple! Consequently, plagues and pestilences lead to economic woes, which lead to food crises and famines.
28 And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— 29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
Increased Evil , Lawlessness, False Teachings & Church Division…
Jesus warned us…
4 Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many…
10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Tearfund’s research highlighted that the church in Latin America and the Caribbean generally lacks a voice with which to denounce corruption. It silences it, justifies it and renders it invisible, to the point of normalising it within the church itself and contributing to its prevalence in society. Pray for churches to take a stand on anti-corruption actions in their communities. (I lived for many years on a Caribbean Island and yes, there is corruption everywhere.)

New World Order, Great Reset, Big Brother, Global Insanity, & Government Overreach in the Last Days
During the Davos World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in 2022 the airports around Davos recorded 1,040 private flights—double the number of an average week.
Last week during the WEF 2023 it was more “as if the emissions of 350,000 cars had been let into the atmosphere in that period”, according to a report by Greenpeace and CE Delft. Amir Tsarfati
Increased Christian Persecution
Jesus warned us…
9 Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers (on account of my name).
Emboldened by the success of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Christians continue to be attacked indiscriminately and brutally in northern Nigeria, and the violence is now spreading to the south. Pray for a decisive end to the influence and threat of militant and armed groups, and ask the Lord to reveal Himself to key figures in these groups.
The very few believers in Libya are greatly at risk of extreme persecution. This includes Moha*, who is facing hostility from his wife. Pray that Moha will have grace and wisdom to show God’s love to his wife, and ask the Holy Spirit to draw her to Jesus. Open Doors UK
“The risks of being openly Christian are so high that it’s almost impossible to meet up in groups for fellowship unless the whole family converts at once.”
In Pakistan, Christians are considered second-class citizens and are discriminated against in every aspect of public and private life.
Although there were no major attacks against churches in Pakistan last year, there are almost constant attacks against individual believers. Many do not feel safe to worship freely.
Pakistan’s infamous blasphemy laws are increasingly being leveraged to accuse Christians and other non-Muslims of insulting the Prophet Mohammed or the Quran – punishment can be the death penalty. False accusations are often made to target Christians after an unrelated dispute, and even a false accusation can lead to mob violence.

Ali* grew up in a Muslim family. He was in the grips of a drug addiction when he met Jesus in a dream. After speaking to various people, he eventually chose to risk everything to follow Christ – and so did his wife, Zahra*. That’s when persecution began.
“In Iran, when someone becomes a Christian, their family becomes defensive,” he explains. “The family rejects the person. If someone like me becomes a Christian, I am seen as defiled. My life is considered filthy by them.”
“The only thing that matters is that we are part of the same Body. When we were in solitary confinement, the only thing that strengthened us was prayer. Only God can go to those dark places.”

Violence against Christians in Sub-Saharan Africa has hit new heights as jihadists seek to make Africa the first Islamic continent.
It’s extremely dangerous to live openly as a Christian in Afghanistan, even more so following the Taliban’s seizure of power in [August 2021], which forced many Christians either further underground or away from the country entirely.
Leaving Islam is considered punishable by death under the prevailing Islamic law, choosing to follow Jesus remains an extraordinarily brave decision to make, because it can have devastating consequences – be it at the hands of the authorities, or even a believer’s family, tribe or clan in an attempt to preserve its ‘honour’. Sudan #10: In 2020, Sudan made steps towards religious freedom. However, this is under threat following a military coup in October 2021. Last year, four Christians were charged under the apostasy law which had only recently been abolished. Ask the Lord to encourage His people in the face of renewed pressure.
Where Christians are suspected of evangelical activity in China, they’re often put under surveillance. That’s what happened to Lixin* after he attended a conference across the border a few years ago. Now he faces potential criminal charges and 3 years in prison. Please pray that the authorities will not press charges and that freedom of religion will be upheld.
In recent years, China has introduced new restrictions on the internet and social media which impose severe limitations on Christian freedom. Many churches are monitored and shut down. Pray for a radical reversal of these overbearing restrictions. Pray that those who watch churches would encounter Christ unexpectedly as they oversee these Christian activities. Open Doors
“But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”
Matthew 24:8 NLT
Good News! The Gospel Around the World!
In the middle of the Olivet Discourse, Mark notes something important that Jesus said regarding the last days…
10 For the Good News must first be preached to all nations (peoples).
Each week after reporting the bad news, I’ll showcase some of the great news — the signs of hope — around the world that Christians are doing what Jesus told us to do in the Great Commission and before He left us. Check these out and pray for them…
Sri Lanka: “Through the broadcast I was able to renew my relationship with God and my relationship with others.” … “We watch the programs in the morning as a whole family. Thanks be to God”. Give thanks for this encouraging feedback and pray for the ongoing gospel media ministry in Sri Lanka. AsiaLink
China: Open Doors partners encourage the faith of new believers from Buddhist backgrounds with regular discipleship training. For people with no previous knowledge of Jesus, the attendees find the sessions “captivating”. Thank God for the impact that these small groups of disciples have in spreading the gospel in China. Please pray that God will anoint the conversations that Christians have with the local authorities. With God’s intervention, these discussions can involve moments of divine encounter for those who seek to oppose His work.
Thailand: Pray for the Karen people in Thailand and thank God for the Thailand Karen Baptist Convention (TKBC) and their work spreading the gospel and encouraging people in their faith. Pray for the TKBC, that the opportunities they have for mission workers to collaborate with them in community transformation will be appropriately filled. BMS World Mission
Iran: Ask God to bless the ongoing training and support of students in preparation to serve the church in Iran and across the Persian-speaking world. Pray for wisdom and discernment in the recruitment of these workers as the church in Iran needs servant-hearted leaders who can handle the Word of God. Additionally, bless the ongoing training and support of students in preparation to serve the church in Iran and across the Persian-speaking world. Pray for wisdom and discernment in the recruitment of these workers as the church in Iran needs servant-hearted leaders who can handle the Word of God. AsiaLink
Central Asia: In an area where sharing the gospel is dangerous, we praise God for the huge increase in people responding to the daily programmes on medium and shortwave radio. Please pray for the listeners, especially those who have suffered the loss of homes, livelihoods and family members in the wake of recent widespread flooding. Also please pray for listeners who are facing serious security threats, human rights abuses and harsh restrictions from those in authority in the region. Feba UK
Paul wrote some words of encouragement…
“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-12 NLT
Help Spread the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the World!
All this is not to scare you, but to warn you, to give you hope, as well as a sense of urgency. We don’t have a choice about what troubles come our way. Nevertheless, we can prepare ourselves by putting on the Full Armor of God. However, we can choose to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that prepares us for trouble.
Jesus is coming soon whether you’re ready or not! Why not begin a relationship with Him?
