Left Behind After the Rapture: Who Are the 144,000 of Revelation 7?

We’re almost done with our series of fictional scenarios of what being Left Behind after the Rapture of the true, born-again Christian believers may look like. We looked at how several different people from various religious and non-religious backgrounds may handle the disappearance of millions, if not billions, of adults and children from the face of the earth. The one thing the adults had in common was that they were all born-again Christians. The children were innocents. Here are the stories in case you missed one…

Again, this is FICTION. Any resemblance to any person living or dead is pure coincidence. Furthermore, no one knows the day or the hour of the Rapture. Only God the Father knows. Also, we don’t know how soon the Great Tribulation will start after the Rapture. What triggers it is the peace treaty between the Antichrist and Israel. See, Israel is central to the End Times. But, that’s a discussion for a later date.

The idea behind all this, is to get you to understand that you have to be ready. It could happen at any moment and you really don’t want to be left behind.

Phoenix, AZ, one month after the Rapture of the church.

Globally, in the last 4 weeks since the Christians vanished from the earth, the world watched as a charismatic young leader emerged from obscurity to take over the governance of the New World Order. This New World Order consists of 10 nation states, which formed after millions of people disappeared to regulate peace, unity, economic and political control through a council of 10 “kings” or leaders. It was called the G10 for short.

Bitcoin became the one-world currency. However, most of the population was suffering from hyper-inflation. The prices of ordinary, staple items were so high that the average family could not afford them. They, then, had to depend on the government to feed and house them. Anyone who took the government’s provisions became an employee. They went into the military guard, which kept the peace. They worked in technology, keeping the electrical grid, cell phones and computers operating. Or they worked in farms or manufacturing. All areas of commerce were now run by the New World Order.

Iran started bombing Israel, but their missiles missed Israeli assets and destroyed Muslim mosques including the Dome of the Rock. Immediately, Jewish officials in Jerusalem started clearing the area in order to rebuild the temple. The plan was to have it completed in 3 years. The Antichrist was so upset with Iran’s actions, that he made them a deal and thus a 7-year peace treaty was signed. It also confirmed the Abraham Accords that Israel made with surrounding Middle East nations during the Trump Administration. This fulfilled the prophecy in Daniel 9…

²⁷ The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven (years), but after half this time (3 and a half years), he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.”

Rabbi Ezra

Former Orthodox, now Messianic Jewish Rabbi Ezra Goldberg was frustrated. He was having difficulty getting through to the Jewish community around his academy. It seems each family he visited in person was so closed-minded, that nothing he could say about Messiah Yeshua would change their attitudes towards Christianity.

He sat in his office praying, asking God for strength to continue even though he wanted to give up. Suddenly there was a glorious, bright light. He looked up at the light which wasn’t blinding like the sun. He was looking at Jesus. Ezra fell to his knees bowing before his God.

“Ezra,” Jesus said his name.

The Rabbi looked up, shaking, not in fear, but in awe. “Yes, Lord?” He said meekly.

“Ezra, you are one of the chosen ones. One of the 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. You, a decedent of Benjamin, are called to preach the Good News to My people here in Phoenix and throughout the southwest and beyond. I will soften the hearts of My people to accept the Gospel. There is no heart too hard for Me. Expand. Connect with My other Children here to become part of the Tribulation Saints. Remember My Words… the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 24:14, 28:18-20)

With that, the light vanished. Ezra was still on his knees, but now he was weeping. Rachel heard him crying and knocked on his door. “Rabbi, are you all right?”

“Yes, Rachel, come in, please. I’ve just had an encounter with Jesus. Quick, hand me my Bible.” He got up and went to his desk. Rachel picked up his Bible and handed it to him.

“Where did I read about the 144,000?” he asked.

“Revelation chapter 7. I know because that chapter really caught my attention.”

The Rabbi found it and read….

Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so they did not blow on the earth or the sea, or even on any tree. ² And I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. And he shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea, ³ “Wait! Don’t harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants.”

⁴ And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God—144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel:

from Gad	12,000
6 from Asher	12,000
from Naphtali	12,000
from Manasseh	12,000
7 from Simeon	12,000
from Levi	12,000
from Issachar	12,000
8 from Zebulun	12,000
from Joseph	12,000
from Benjamin	12,000

He looked up after reading it and Rachel saw a mark on his forehead. “Rabbi! Your forehead! There’s a mark! It’s a cross!”

He stood up to look at his reflection in the window. There in the center of his forehead was a faint, yet plainly visible white cross. “Wow!” He turned around and looked at Rachel, “We’ve got work to do, Rachel.”

“Yes! How can I help?”

“Go down to the Baptist church. I’ve seen people meeting there. Find out when they meet, who is in charge and ask them if we could have a time to meet on Saturday. I want to stick with the Sabbath meetings.”

“Why not meet here?”

“Not big enough. Plus, Jesus told me to unite with the Tribulation Saints here and that’s what I’m going to do. Then make up some flyers and we’ll get the staff to go door-to-door in the neighborhood.”

“Sounds like a plan!” With that, she turned and walked out.

Ezra got down on his knees and prayed. After a while, he got online and watched two videos by Amir Tsarfati, a Messianic Jewish preacher, whom he assumed was in heaven. However, he became the Rabbi’s new teacher. The Rabbi’s Rabbi!
