Reading this next chapter in Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians reminded me of my mom’s rose garden on one side of our house in upstate New York. You learn very quickly that you have to wear thick gloves if you want to cut roses. Those thorns are sharp and they hurt. God didn’t make it easy to pick roses.
Living in Phoenix, I admire the desert landscaping in some houses. You develop a respect for cacti and their thorns when you want to use them in your garden.
What do gardens and thorns have to do with this chapter? Well, it gives us a well-used phrase — “a thorn in my my flesh”.
Here Paul also talks about the “3rd heaven”. Where is that exactly? Let’s find out…
If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then…
Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
