How to Enter the Kingdom of God by way of the Narrow Gate

Ever since I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, 14 years ago, I’ve enjoyed hiking the many trails in the area. Some are easy and I can hike them at a good pace. The steeper ones are more difficult and sometimes, very narrow. One slip on a rock and you’re tumbling down the side of the mountain.

These trails remind me of life. Sometimes we have it easy and sometimes, the way seems like it’s all uphill and treacherous.

The one good thing is knowing that at any time, we can look up to Jesus. Actually, we can call on Jesus and He will walk…

  • beside us as a friend
  • in front of us a guide
  • or behind us, pushing us through the rough road

At times, He even carries us….

Footprints Poem

One night I had a dream…

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;
But I have noticed that during the
most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.

The Lord replied, “My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

Jesus told us…

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 NLT

Entering God’s Kingdom

Being in God’s Kingdom starts the moment you repent of your sins and ask Jesus to forgive you and promise Him that you will try your best to never sin again. That’s not easy. Temptation is EVERYWHERE. The path of righteousness is an uphill one. Jesus told us…

13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell [the road that leads to destruction] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

Matthew 7:13-14 NLT

Which Road are You on?

Jesus said…

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 NLT
If you’re on the highway to hell, you can get off it right now and turn to Jesus!

If you’re trying to find salvation through any other way but THROUGH JESUS, you’re actually on the highway to hell!

Just before, Jesus said…

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

John 14:1-3

Jesus is Coming Back for His Born-Again Believers

Any day now. We are living in the last days! You can’t look around at all that is happening in the world today and not recognize that it’s exactly what Jesus described in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. The Rapture can happen at any moment. Are you ready? Will you be left behind? Believe me, you don’t want to be left behind. God provides us with Bible Prophecy to warn us about what the consequences are if we are not saved by the time He’s ready to call His believers up.

If you truly want to be born again and have the assurance of salvation and a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven and that you won’t be left behind at the Rapture, this is what you have to do…

Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.

  • Believe — have Faith — that Jesus is the Christ and He died taking your sins away forever and that He rose from the dead 3 days later.
  • Repent of your sins — stop sinning! Do a complete 180-degree turn in your life and surrender your life to Him. When you ask Jesus to forgive you He will. ALL your sins will be wiped clean — past, present, and future! And All means ALL!
  • Be Baptized by water baptism — show the world and yourself that you have died to your old life and are born again in Christ.
  • Receive the gift of Holy Spirit in your heart.

Invite Jesus into Your Heart and Receive the Gift of Grace, Joy, Peace, and the Confident Hope of Eternal Life…

Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly…

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

Colossians‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus Christ is coming back soon! Are you ready?
